PRESIDENTIAL PALACE
Bogor

Bogor Palace was built in 1745 by the Dutch Governor General, Baron Gustaaf Willem Van Imhoff, as his weekend and holiday retreat at Kampung Baru about 60 km from Jakarta. Originally called Buitenzorg, which means free from any burden, Bogor Palace was used as the official residence of all Dutch Governor Generals and the Dutch authorities from 1870 to 1942. If you wish to visit the palace, permission has to be granted in advance.
