| Old Banten was one of the earliest areas to be settled in West Java and the history of this area can be seen in the village of Kroya, 10 km from Serang. Here you can visit Mesjid Agung Banten (the Banten Great Mosque) which was built in 1566 by Sultan Maulana Yusuf. Other places of Interest are the Kaibon Palace, the surosowan Palace, the Dutch Fortress, the Ki Amuk Cannon and Pelabuhan Karanghantu, the oldest harbour in Java |
